Acupuncture and Ayurvedic Medicine can help with fertility and improve the success rate of IVF and other fertility treatment. Acupuncture supports and harmonize the body to encourage optimal health and physiological function. The approach of Traditional Medicine (Chinese and Ayurvedic Medicine) is to treat the whole person’s body & mind and identify the imbalances that are occurring in that individual.
Acupuncture can improve the circulation to the reproductive organs, improve ovaries function, balance hormone, boost immunity and in addition reduce the stress and anxiety and minimise the side effect of IVF drugs. Chinese and Ayurvedic Medicine have long history and many texts are written on about herbal medicine. An herbal formula, which is composed of a combination of many herbs together, address the disharmonies that have been identified in a patient.
It is ideal to start Acupuncture treatment three months before you are planning to conceive. Sometimes it is not possible but sooner you start the treatment, it will better for you. Generally, it is recommended that patient has acupuncture session once per week in conjunction with Ayurvedic medicine and Yoga. Acupuncture points may be selected, depending upon your menstrual cycle, the whole treatment will help regulate the hormone and cycle. It will also assist in lowering stress and anxiety that is unavoidable part of the IVF process.
The needles used in Acupuncture are very thin, they are like hair. In my practice, I use approximately 20 Acupuncture needles in one treatment, and it is not painful at all. Most people find acupuncture very relaxing and it is also a very good time to slow down the racing brain.
